Everybody, Limbo!!!

Well, this is one day that I came to work with absolutely no good reason to actually be here. I was scheduled to come in, but there were no classes, no preparation for me to do, nor even a perfunctory meeting. I feel like one of those extra widgets in a quota driven factory stock pile. We have no work for you but you must fill in these days of work. Go forth and be idle. The most work I did today was cleaning out my desk to have it ready for the next teacher that uses it, since I will be teaching elsewhere next year. I am truly in work limbo.

Not much of a blogger!

I'm not much of a blogger, but I guess I'll just enter this for the sake of entering something, since you, Tom, were kind enough to give me this account to blog with. I guess I feel really strange documenting my own experiences for others to read. Why would they want to read them? I don't think it would be very interesting, and for me it almost feels like a chore to write entries. (Wasn't mush of a diary keeper either) What's the attraction?

Typhoon!

Well, we were battered by a typhoon all night and into the morning. I, nonetheless slept well with the metal shutters pulled down. It was a good thing too that they were, as we discovered on the morning news that the storm had shattered windows on a train at Narita station. Apparently 7 people were hurt. Because of the strong winds I left home a little later than usual. I caught the 7:55 instead of the 7:08. On the train I finally received a phone call from the school and was told that I need not be in until 11:00! Man!
